Release Notes - July 2022

Please find below the list of features which went LIVE on our Edmingle platform this month. In this article, we have explained the features and the steps to follow to enable the same from the admin panel.

Following is the list of features:
  1. Certificate Automation
  2. Grading System
  3. Masked YouTube Videos

  1. Certificate Automation
    We have added a functionality in the system which allows the admins to setup automated certificate generation. This can be set based on Course Completion percentage or Exercises completion for the set course.

    This functionality is available in our Professional plan or above.

    Admin can follow the below steps to set the automate certificate generation in the system:
    1. Login to the admin panel.
    2. Click on Certificates from the left side navigation panel.
    3. Then, click on the + Certificate Template option and update the following details:
      1. Certificate Name
      2. Serial Prefix – For example, EDM can be used as a prefix if Edmingle wants to assign certificates for a course.
      3. Orientation (Landscape or Portrait) – As per your requirement.
      4. Check the option Automate Certificate generation to enable automate issuing of the certificates and then, select the criteria from Course or Exam and Exercise based on which the certificates must be issued.
        1. If Course is selected, then click on the Add+ button on the right side.
          1. Then, Select a course, Course Completion Percentage and the Status.
          2. The above step can be repeated to add multiple courses.


        2. If Exam and Exercise is selected, then take the following steps:
          1. First, select the Main Course Package from the drop-down which lists all your courses.
          2. Then, click on +Add Exam button and then Select exam and Status. Please make sure the exam is already created for the selected course.
          3. The above step can be repeated if you want to add multiple exams.
          4. Then, click on + Add Exercise button and then Select exercise and Status. Please make sure the exercise is already created for the selected course.
          5. The above step can be repeated if you want to add multiple exercises.

            Note: You can set the automation by adding both exams and exercises together or by activating either one of them.
      5. Finally, upload the HTML Template and click on Create at the bottom to complete the setup.
        Note: Before setting-up certificate automation, please make sure the HTML file is ready.

  2. Grading System
    We have introduced a grading system in the Edmingle platform. Now, the clients can define the grades in the system and map it with the percentage range.

    Once enabled, the grading system will be applicable to all the exams and exercises created in the system and the learners will receive the grades as per their performance in the attempted exams or exercises.

    This functionality is available in our Hybrid plan or above.

    Admin can take the following steps to enable and setup the grading system:
    1. Login to the admin panel
    2. Click on Settings from the navigation panel (left side column) and then click on Grading System available at the bottom of the navigation panel on the left side.
    3. Click on the toggle button to enable the grading system functionality.


    4. By default, the system will set the Number of Grades as 2 and will define the grades as F (from 0% to 49%) and A (from 50% to 100%).


    5. Clients can update the number of grades (up to 10) as per the requirement and can even change the grade name (up to 3 characters supported).
      Also, the slider can be used to increase or decrease the range of any grade.


    6. Once a student attempts an exam or an exercise, the result will display the grade as well (screenshot below for reference).


    7. The same will also be displayed in the progress report of that particular exam or exercise (available in the batches section).



  3. Masked YouTube Videos
    A lot of our clients upload YouTube video as a teaching material, but do not want the learners to access the YouTube link and share it further. To address this issue, the YouTube video link is masked and the learner will now not be able to see the link.

    This is how the YouTube will now appear for the learner.

    As you can see, the YouTube logo is not visible on the video and no way to access the video link.
