Release Notes - June 2022

Please find below the list of features which went LIVE on our Edmingle platform this month. In this article, we have explained the features and the steps to follow to enable the same from the admin panel.

Following is the list of features:
  1. Reset Password Link – Multiple Users
  2. Course Announcement
  3. Device Restriction
  4. DRM Encrypted Videos
  5. Updating Learner Portal Theme

Now, lets take you through the feature details and the steps to enable those.
  1. Reset Password Link – Multiple Users
    Initially, we were only able to send the reset password link to an individual only, whereas now we can send to multiple users at once.

    Admin can follow the below steps to send the reset password link in bulk:
    1. Login to the admin panel.
    2. Click on Users and you will land on the Students list.
    3. Select the checkbox next to the leaner’ name and then click on Actions button available at the top right hand-side corner.

    4. Then, click on Send Reset Password Link and the below pop-up will appear.
    5. Now, select the option through which you want the learner to receive the link.
      1. Email – Please make sure the email notification is enabled. Go to Email Notifications tab available in Settings and enable the communication using the toggle button.
      2. SMS – Please ensure that SMS notification is active. To check, go to SMS Notifications tab under Settings. The SMS template is by the name of Reset Password Link.
        If you using your own organization’s SMS mask, please get the SMS template approved with that Sender ID before using it
      3. Select both is you want to send it through both the mediums.


  2. Course Announcement
    We have given this feature to the admins to reach out to the learners through an announcement. This announcement can either be send to the complete learner database or to learners related to specific course/batch.

    This announcement will be visible both in Web portal and mobile device.

    This feature can be accessed by following the below steps:
    1. Login to the admin panel.
    2. Click on Communications tab on the left hand-side navigation panel.
    3. Then, click on +Make New Announcement to send a communication to the intended users.

      Multiple courses and batches can be selected if you have selected course-wise announcement.


  3. Device Restriction
    A lot of our clients shared their concern that the learners share their credentials further and with one single account, a lot of users are able to access the content. Therefore, we now have given our clients the ability to restrict the number of devices to access the content.

    This way only the devices mapped with the leaner’s profile can access the content.

    This setting can be enabled by following the below steps:
    1. Login to the admin panel.
    2. Click on Website & App Setup.
    3. Under General Settings, set the number of devices from setting Device limit allowed per student and click on Save.

    4. To check the number of active devices for a particular learner, go to the users profile and click on Activity.





  4. DRM Encrypted Videos
    Edmingle now allows the video content to be uploaded in DRM (Digital rights management) encrypted format. This will refrain the student base to download the video content and only admins have the authority to download the videos.

    To access the setting, follow the below steps:
    1. Login to the admin panel.
    2. Click on Settings.
    3. Click on Integration and then on Advanced.
    4. Use the toggle button at the bottom to enable DRM.

    5. Post that, you will have an option to upload DRM videos through teaching material.



  5. Leaner's Portal Theme Dynamic
    Initially, we only had a single theme available (blue) and it was by default available active for the leaner dashboard. However, the clients now have the ability to change the theme color as per their requirement.

    To change the theme color, follow the below steps:
    1. Login to the admin panel.
    2. Click on Website & App Setup and then on Brand Settings.
    3. Select the Brand Colour to update the color as per your choice.
    4. Then, select the tab below which says “Use above selected brand colour for student dashboard” and click on Save.
