A smarter, faster, and multi-channel notification system designed for modern training businesses. This guide helps you understand how to use, configure, and migrate to System Notifications 2.0 on Edmingle.

What is System Notifications 2.0?

  • A major upgrade from the earlier notification system (1.0).

  • Multi-channel support: Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and Mobile Push.

  • Covers key events: Login, Signup, Sessions, Events, Payments, Announcements, and more.

  • Comes with an advanced template builder, deep linking (with Learner 2.0), and improved delivery infrastructure.

Alert

Important Before You Switch

  1. Notification templates from Notifications 1.0 do not migrate automatically.

  2. Set up templates for each channel (Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Push) before switching.

  3. For full capabilities like deep linking, on-click handling, and push notifications, you must be on Learner 2.0 (Web + Mobile App).

How to Enable System Notifications 2.0

1. Navigate to:

Admin Panel → Settings → System Notifications

2. Click on the toggle:

"Switch to Notifications 2.0"


Manage Channels Globally

Click on "Manage Notifications" (top right).

You can enable/disable notification delivery for:

  • Email

  • SMS

  • WhatsApp (requires integration setup)

  • Push Notifications

⚠️ For WhatsApp, you need to set up provider credentials.

Notification Categories & Events Supported


Session Notifications

The Sessions tab in System Notifications allows you to manage alerts related to scheduling, updates, reminders, and cancellations of sessions. These notifications help learners stay informed about their classes, reducing missed sessions and ensuring smooth communication.

You can configure delivery through Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and Mobile Push Notifications (depending on availability) and also customise each notification using the Edit Template option.

Available Session Notifications

  1. Session Schedule

    • Notifies learners when a new session is scheduled.

    • Can be sent via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  2. Session Update

    • Sends a notification when a session is updated or rescheduled.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  3. Manual Session Reminder

    • Sends a session reminder when triggered manually from the Admin Portal.

    • Delivered via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  4. Session Reminder

    • Automatically sends reminders 1 hour and 24 hours before a scheduled session begins.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  5. Session Start Reminder

    • Notifies learners immediately when a session goes live.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  6. Mark Holiday

    • Sends a notification to learners when a day is marked as a holiday.

    • Available via SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  7. Session Cancel

    • Alerts learners if a session is cancelled.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

Edit Template

For each type of session notification, you can customize the message content by clicking the Edit Template icon. This allows you to personalize the communication tone and format according to your institution’s needs.


You can configure delivery channels such as Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and Mobile Push Notifications, and also customise the content of each alert by using the Edit Template option.

Available Event Notifications

  1. Event Reminder

    • Sends automated reminders 1 hour and 24 hours before an event begins.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  2. Event Registration

    • Sends a confirmation when a learner successfully registers for an event.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  3. Event Completed

    • Sends a notification once the event has ended.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  4. Event Cancelled

    • Notifies learners if an event is cancelled.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  5. Event Session Started

    • Sends an alert when an event begins to ensure learners join on time.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

Edit Template

Each event notification can be tailored by clicking the Edit Template icon. This allows administrators to personalize event-related communication according to institutional preferences and branding.


Just like other notifications, you can configure delivery channels such as Email, SMS, WhatsApp, and Mobile Push Notifications, and customize each message using the Edit Template option.

Available Payment Notifications

  1. Payment Received

    • Sends a receipt to the learner after a successful payment.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

  2. Payment Reminder

    • Sends a reminder when a course payment is due, ensuring learners do not miss deadlines.

    • Available via Email, SMS, WhatsApp and Mobile Push.

Edit Template

You can personalize payment-related notifications by clicking the Edit Template icon. This enables administrators to include branding, custom instructions, or specific details for a more professional communication flow.


Announcement Notifications

The Announcements tab in System Notifications helps you notify learners instantly whenever a new announcement is published. This ensures important updates, news, or instructions are delivered without delay.

Available Announcement Notification

  1. New Announcement

    • Sends a notification to learners whenever a new announcement is created.

    • Available via Mobile Push Notifications for quick and direct communication.

Edit Template

You can customize the announcement notification by clicking the Edit Template option. This allows you to personalize the message tone, content, and structure to align with your institution’s communication style.


✅ Courses Notifications

The Courses tab allows you to manage notifications specific to individual courses. These notifications ensure learners stay informed about updates, progress, and important communications tied directly to their enrolled courses.

Available Course Notifications

Each listed course has configurable notification settings. You can enable or disable channels depending on how you’d like learners to receive updates.

  • Email – Learners receive updates via email for better visibility.

  • WhatsApp – Option to send updates on WhatsApp (if enabled), ensuring instant communication.

Edit Template

For every course notification, you can customize the content by clicking the Edit Template option. This allows you to adjust the tone, wording, and style of messages, making them course-specific and aligned with your institution’s communication approach.


Memberships Notifications

The Memberships Notification section allows platform administrators to manage automated alerts sent to learners regarding their membership status. Notifications are triggered for key membership events: when a new membership is purchased (Membership Welcome), when a membership is cancelled (Membership Cancelled), and when a membership expires (Membership Expired).

Available Memberships Notifications
  1. Membership Welcome

    • Sends a confirmation to the learner when a new membership is purchased.

    • Available via Email, and WhatsApp (if enabled), ensuring instant communication.

  2. Membership Cancelled

    • Sends a notification to the learner when the membership is cancelled.

    • Available via Email, and WhatsApp (if enabled), ensuring instant communication.

  3. Membership Expired

    • Sends a notification to the learner when the membership is expired.

    • Available via Email, and WhatsApp (if enabled), ensuring instant communication.



How to Edit Notification Templates

1. Click the “Edit Template” icon next to any notification.


2. Choose the channel you want to edit:

  • Email

  • SMS

  • WhatsApp

Each template builder will provide access to set of placeholders that can be used to personalize the notification.

Q: What happens if I don’t set templates before switching?

Your notifications will be sent using the default templates that are configured for each channel.

Q: Can I use Notifications 2.0 with Learner 1.0?

Yes, but in older version of Mobile Application push notifications, deep-linking and on-click handling is not available. Also, features like Events are not available in Edmingle 1.0 and hence while the notifications will be received, learners will not be able to use them.
