How to Use Workflows in Edmingle | Automate Learner Engagement with WhatsApp, Email, SMS, and Push

How to Use Workflows in Edmingle?

Overview

Workflows in Edmingle help automate communication and engagement tasks across the learner journey. Whether it's nudging learners to complete their course, reminding them about items left in their cart, or prompting an upgrade from a free preview, Workflows allow you to set up automated, multi-step communication flows without any technical complexity.

Using a drag-and-drop visual builder, you can design workflows using delays and multi-channel message triggers (WhatsApp, Email, SMS, Push) to engage learners at the right moment—automatically.

IdeaWhy Use Workflows?

Workflows allow you to:

  • Save time on manual follow-ups or repetitive outreach

  • Deliver timely, personalized nudges across learner touchpoints

  • Improve sales conversion, engagement, and retention

  • Enable event-based automation without needing third-party tools

WarningEligibility Based on Plan

Automated Funnels & Engagement Workflows are available form the Power Plan & Above.

To access the Workflows section:

  1. Go to the Edmingle Admin Dashboard

  2. From the left sidebar, click on Marketing

  3. Select Workflows

You’ll land on the main workflows page, where you’ll see pre-built templates to get started quickly.

Getting Started with a Workflow Template

Under the "Generate Sales" section, you’ll find pre-built automation templates:

  • Abandoned Cart Reminders – Recover lost sales by nudging learners who left items in their cart.

  • Free Preview Upgrades – Prompt learners on free trials to switch to a paid plan.

  • Promote Enrollments – Encourage new users to explore and enroll in courses.

Click "Edit this template" to customize and activate a workflow.

Understanding the Workflow Builder

Each workflow is a visual sequence that includes the following elements:

1. Start/Trigger Block

This defines the entry point for the automation (e.g., Abandoned Cart).

2. Wait Block

Delays the next step for a set duration.

  • Click the plus (+) button below the Start block

  • Choose Wait Block

  • Enter the wait duration (e.g., 1 day)

  • Click Update Time

IdeaUse Wait blocks to create gaps between follow-ups and avoid spamming users.

3. Message Block

Sends a message to the learner via the selected channel.

  • Click the plus (+) below a Wait block

  • Choose Message Block

  • Select the channel (Email, SMS, WhatsApp, Push)

  • Choose the template from your saved templates (for more details about templates, refer the support documentation here).

  • Click Update Message

IdeaEnsure your message templates are approved and available in the respective channel setup (e.g., AiSensy for WhatsApp).

4. Add More Steps

You can continue building a sequence by repeating Wait and Message blocks as needed.

For example:

  • Wait 1 Day → WhatsApp Reminder

  • Wait 1 More Day → SMS Reminder

  • Wait 1 More Day → Email Follow-up

Saving and Activating Your Workflow

Once your flow is designed:

  • Click Save Changes (top-right)

  • Click Activate Workflow to make it live

You can return anytime to edit, pause, or deactivate the workflow.
