After you create a course, you might need to change its details or add new information. Your LMS account lets you update the course content, adjust settings, and make the learning experience better for your learners. It’s important to edit your course to keep the information correct and interesting.


This is especially important if the lessons or materials change. Moreover, you can also use editing to fix any issues learners mention and make the course easier to understand. Keeping your course up to date helps it match your teaching goals and what’s needed in the field.

Before proceeding, please read the “How to Create a Course in the Curriculum?” doc. It further provides the necessary steps for creating a course, which will further help you to edit the course in a better way.

Navigation

The Courses Section is the main place where you can find all the classes & study materials. When you go there, you can look through the different courses, sign up for new ones, and keep track of the courses you are currently taking. This makes learning easier and more organized.

Navigate to the left sidebar of your learning platform, click on the “Course Delivery” dropdown to expand it, select the “Courses” option, then click on a particular course.

Navigate to the left sidebar of your learning platform, click on the “Course Delivery” dropdown to expand it, select the “Courses” option, then click on the vertical ellipsis (⋮) next to the desired course.



Editing the Course

Editing a course lets you update and improve your lessons to keep them accurate and engaging. It helps you add new content, fix mistakes, and make the course better for your learners.

Step 1: Irrespective of the method you have selected, you’ll be redirected to the 'Create and Edit Your Course' screen, where you can edit and add additional details to the course. The table below outlines the required fields and their descriptions.

Thumbnail Image

Upload a course thumbnail to visually represent your course. The maximum file size is 1MB, and the preferred dimensions are 1080px x 720px. You can either click to upload or drag and drop the image.

Optional

Course Name

Enter the title of your course (up to 100 characters). This name will be displayed to learners and should be clear and concise.

Mandatory

Description

Provide a brief overview of the course (up to 400 characters). A well-written description helps learners understand what they will gain from the course.

Optional

Pretty Name

Enter a short, user-friendly version of the course name (up to 50 characters). This is useful for branding and easy recognition.

Optional

Overview

Give a high-level summary of your course, outlining the key topics and learning objectives to provide clarity to potential learners.

Optional

Course Type

Choose between two options: Online only (for virtual courses) or Classroom Program (for in-person training at your institution). Select an appropriate option based on your course format.

Provide a link to a promotional video for your course. This video can be used to introduce the course content, highlight key features, and attract learners.

Select this option if learners should be able to access course content even after they complete the course.

Checkbox - Course completion

Enable this option if you want to track and mark the course as completed when learners finish all the required modules.

You have successfully edited your course. Now, you can move to the next tab of the screen, i.e., Add Curriculum to your course.
